I hope you enjoy the candid images taken when Ed Balls visited a local company in Pendle on the 14th March 14, 2015, Intelipac Ltd. Ed Balls who is the current Labour’s Shadow Chancellor was accompanied by Azhar Ali who is Pendle’s PPC for the 2015 general election.
Ed Balls and Azhar Ali initially spoke with some of the company directors before taking a factory tour and learning how a plastic bag is manufactured, they were both impressed with the production process and surprised about the ingredients used which include recycled polymer and chalk.
On his tour Ed Balls commented that he uses plastic carrier bags on a daily basis and has never give a thought to the manufacturing process.
After the tour Ed Balls spoke to some employees before posing for a final photograph. I believe the consensus of opinion was that ED Balls was genuinely interested in the manufacturing process of the carrier bag and how the introduction of the bag tax to be introduced October 2015 will affect the industry.
